Report a claim

Had a collision, water damage, a break-in or a fire? Here is what to do first. Your insurance company opens and handles the claim, and Frank can help you through it.

What to do right away

  1. Make sure everyone is safe.If anyone is hurt or in danger, call 911.
  2. Call your insurance company’s claims line.Do it as soon as possible. Most insurers take claims 24/7. You will find the claims number in your policy documents or on your insurer’s website or app.
  3. Prevent more damage if it is safe to do so.For example, shut off the water or cover a broken window. Keep your receipts.
  4. Take photos and write down what happened.Note the date, time and place, and the names, phone numbers, insurance and licence-plate details of anyone else involved.
  5. Let Frank know.Call or text (613) 777-0375 with your name, your policy number and the claim number your insurer gives you.

Car collisions

Ontario law requires some collisions to be reported to police or at a Collision Reporting Centre. If you are not sure whether yours needs to be reported, ask your local police. Exchange information with the other driver, but do not discuss who was at fault.
